Tampa Bay Lightning is excited to announce the launch of their Seventh Annual Open Call to Artists exhibition at Amalie Arena and invite Lightning fans and members of the local arts community to submit pieces of original artwork to be hung for display in Amalie Arena during the 2018-2019 season. In the exhibit’s first six years, over 250 local pieces of art have been displayed for the Arena’s estimated 1.5 million annual visitors…this exhibition has not only brought tremendous awareness to the talent of our local emerging artists but it has also directly benefited the artists as all art is for sale, with proceeds directly going to the artist. The Lightning will be joined by representatives from the Tampa Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, the Ringling Museum of Art and the Dali Museum to help select the winning pieces. Artists are encouraged to visually celebrate Tampa Bay and its people so that Amalie Arena can exude the vibrancy and energy of the community. Please feel free to be creative and depict anything and everything that inspires you locally….and if you are able to weave in the love of hockey, even better! Artists of all ages welcome, and special category for artists under 18 years of age.
The unveiling and reception will be held in late September to early October 2018. Key dates:
• April 24, 2018 – Website open for submission
